Admission Standards and Procedures

Nondiscriminatory Policy

Any child, regardless of race, color, national and ethnic origin, shall be welcome to attend the school if he will cheerfully obey all rules of the school and pay tuition. Students who do not expect to obey all rules and requirements of the school need not apply for admission. No student shall be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of the school's educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, or other school-administered programs.

Admission Policies

The Board reserves the right to refuse admittance to anyone whom it does not consider desirable. Applicants who have been sexually active, have emotional or social problems, have a history of weapons possession, substance abuse, or violent or disruptive behavior will not be accepted.
No student will be accepted who has less than a C- average in the basic subject areas except upon thorough review by the Board and faculty.
The administration has full responsibility for placing each child in the proper grade and may administer tests to help determine placement.
A parent is required to read and explain the Parent/Pupil Handbook to his child in the sixth grade and below. A child in seventh grade or above is required to read the Parent/Pupil Handbook yearly, and sign a statement agreeing to abide by all rules and regulations therein.
A current medical history, including a completed immunization schedule or signed exemption form, and a certified copy of the child’s birth certificate must be presented to the office before a child can be enrolled.
Physical exams are required for students in the first and seventh grades.
No student whose birthday falls later than October 15 will be accepted for kindergarten or first grade. Children under seven without previous schooling will not be considered for admission to the first grade after Monday of the third week of school.
Students with previous schooling must present evidence of grades received and the last grade completed.
Parents must sign the application which indicates his agreement with the Statement of Religious Beliefs, the Philosophy Statement, the Purposes and Objectives, the Discipline Policy and his pledge to cooperate in
  1. faithful prayer
  2. practical help
  3. prompt, regular payment of tuition and fees
  4. attendance at parent orientation and programs or other activities designed for parent attendance
  5. support of the faculty and administration in all policies and requirements of Boise Christian School
Admission Procedures

The process of enrollment at BCS prior to final acceptance shall include but is not limited to the following:

  1. Submission of properly completed application forms.
  2. Both parents must be interviewed by an administrator who will answer any parental questions and discuss the school's policies, procedures, etc., to determine if the family and school can work together successfully. Parents are expected to bring a copy of the student's grades and achievement test results to the interview. Parents seeking to enroll a student during the school year are expected to bring academic information for both the current school year and the previous school year. The administrator will use the information to assess the student's academic aptitude and to identify possible problems. All students admitted to the school will be expected to perform at or above grade level.
  3. Entrance testing if needed.
  4. Payment of registration and all other required fees.
Enrollment Priorities

The month of April is reserved for enrollment of current students. During this time, current students should complete the Enrollment Confirmation Form and return it to the office with the registration fee. Beginning May 1, each student will be prioritized according to his date of application.
