A ministry of Faith Evangelical Church, Boise, Idaho
Purposes and Objectives
Boise Christian School exists to assist parents in fulfilling their God-given obligation to "train up a child in the way he should go." Thus, training of children is regarded as the joint responsibility of the home, the church, and the school. It is our desire to have all three units in a fully integrated program, each in harmony with the other, so that positive Christian personalities may be developed. The general purpose of Boise Christian School will be to provide academic instruction and instruction in the faith and principles identified in the Word of God in order that the pupils may be prepared to take their places in the home, the church, and the community. Since the purpose is two-fold, the general objectives are two-fold; spiritual and academic.
1. Spiritual: To show our students how to bring their lives into agreement with God's plan; and then, with the vision of God in their hearts, to face the present world and the world to come.
2. Academic objectives in order of importance are:
a. To help each student gain a thorough comprehension and command of the fundamental processes used in communicating and dealing with others, such as reading, writing, speaking, listening and mathematics.
b. To provide the opportunity for appreciation of the fine arts.
Statement of Philosophy
There is final, absolute truth which, as a unity, centers in the Creator God. This truth is revealed in the Bible and is personified in Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God. Education is a Christ-centered, biblically-integrated process of developing spiritually, mentally, and physically. The ultimate aim of life is not adjustment to the age, but conformity to Christ. This objective is achieved by a disciplined life of sacrificial service, patterned after Him who pleased not
Himself.
Statement of Beliefs
Boise Christian School is committed to the philosophy of Christian education and the scriptural precept, "Whatsoever you do, do all to the glory of God." Therefore, we strive for quality education which integrates God's truth into the development of the spirit, mind, and body of each individual via example, instruction, and discipline. We stand for holy living and responsible conduct, and these policies and procedures are intended to further those objectives.
We believe there is but one living and true God; that in unity of the Godhead there are three persons of one substance, power, and eternity—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
We believe that the Old and New Testaments were given by divine inspiration and are the only infallible, authoritative Word of God, and that they inerrantly reveal the will of God concerning all things necessary to our salvation.
We believe that original sin is the corruption of the nature of all the offspring of Adam by reason of which we are without spiritual life and are inclined to evil.
We believe that Jesus Christ, by His meritorious death on the cross, made full atonement for all sin, and that whosoever repents and believes on Him is justified, regenerated, adopted as a son of God, and saved from the damnation of sin.
We believe that entire sanctification is that act of God (provided through the blood of Jesus and wrought instantaneously by faith) by which believers are made free from original sin and brought into a state of love made perfect and entire devotion to God.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will come again literally and bodily.
We believe in the resurrection of the dead: "they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation."
We believe that the institution of marriage was intended by God to be a permanent, lifelong relationship between a man and a woman, regardless of trials, sickness, financial reverses, or emotional stresses that may ensue.
We believe that human life is of inestimable worth and significance in all its dimensions, including the unborn, the aged, the widowed, the mentally handicapped, the unattractive, the physically challenged, and every other condition in which humanness is expressed from conception to the grave.
